At the moment I have to improvise a little bit. So a changing bag or one of the toilets is my darkroom. It's very easy to make the toilet light-tight. A towel on the floor at the connection of the door to the toilet makes it. In this picture I used the toilet seat as table for taking out some paper negatives from film holders and putting the paper in the development drum.

Here's my darkroom. Built in my attached garage that I don't need as I have a second garage (two cars) behind my house. When my wife & I were looking to buy a new house after our second child was born) I said "let's buy this one. I can use this garage for my darkroom"... and she said "OK, we only have two cars"... I still say "thank you honey" everyday I'm in my darkroom. Anyway, here's two images. Oh yeah, the darkroom itself is 12 feet by 14 feet and painted 18% grey. What you can not see in my 2 images are my safe-light, which is a OC filter sleeve which covers over a normal fluorescent shop light. I bought that from BandH and it's so good you can almost read a newspaper when it and only that is turned on in the darkroom. Image one is the enlarger table and light-safe table for hiding paper. The enlarger table is 34 inches wide, 36 inches front to back, and 34 inches high from the floor. The light safe table is 48 inches wide, 36 inches front to back, 34 inches high, and uses a "flip up" top to open. It's kind of looks like the top is a light table but it's not, just a white plastic cover over the wood top. The tables legs on both tables are made from 4x4 posts, anything else are made from 2x4's and all are painted black. Here's half of my darkroom.

In 2006, during my first bout of cancer treatment, I came up with a hair-brained scheme to create double portraits with other f295 members on 4x5 film. We each shot our self-portraits on one side of five sheet, and then sent one sheet to each of the other participants for their self portrait on the other side of the sheet. The project was never completed, and many of the shots were not successful. Here is one that worked, with Mary Donato (gneissgirl) and myself.

I posted a longer entry about this space on the F295.org home page. It was the darkroom in my old house. A tiny space under the front entry way that had about 12sq. ft. of floor space, no running water, no sink, not light tight and was cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Lots of back breaking evenings were spent down there - the ceiling was so low I had to keep the enlarger on a short 'end table stand'... which mean focusing was only accomplished by kneeling... !

Unfortunately, I only thought to take some pictures of it after we began moving and most of the stuff was out and in boxes.

The full post about it is here: http://www.f295.org/site/?p=878

Hey there, pinhole lovers!
I'm a student from Lithuania, and i belong to a group of students who like photography, Every year, we have a big job to do - we make the only magazine in the whole country about student's photography, and it's published all over the Europe. I'm taking part in this event this year, so I decided to create an article about pinhole photography all over the world. My goal is to collect some photos of students all over the world and to hear their story about how they got into this type of photography, what's so cool for them in this hobby and what's your philosophy about it. You could even write a short story about it. It would be a very nice worldwide project and I would definitely post it somewhere around here. So, if you want to take part, just post your story, as I said, and one or two of your best shots would be great to see. Here is an example (a lithuanian version) of last year's magazine: http://www.lmitkc.lt/failai/mf-2.pdf
I think you'd be glad to see your photo(s) and story there, although the most fun ant important thing here, in my opinion, is the worldwide idea and connection between all of us - photographers all over the world. So feel free to post anything you want here!

You could also send me your story or photos or some questions if you'd like by email: magneb6@gmail.com

Any help to post this somewhere around the internet or anywhere would be greatly appreciated, so tell anybody you can about this if you can!

                      Thanks for help!
                      Mangis
