View Full Version : Lensed version of my existing pinhole camera

I was poking around a surplus optics site and found some lenses with a 34mm FL and 60mm diameter for only $4 each, so I ordered a couple to try. (Part L11158 at http://www.surplusshed.com). They have a variety of lens options available.

At first I wasn't sure how to mount it, but then I remembered my full set of lens filter step-up and step-down rings. I was lucky and the lens could be trapped between two rings perfectly, then I used more rings as a spacer and a bit of a shade.

I'll post a thread in the B&W section with the results, but here's a couple of pictures of the test camera. The camera itself is my trusty homemade 6x6 24mm candy tin camera and the lens is just held on with gaffer's tape.

Interesting camera and seems to work very well looking at the results.

Thanks. I'm glad I tried out this experiment as I like some of the pictures that have come from it. The reverse fish-eye effect reduced the FOV more than I expected, so it's been tricky to frame things well, but fun.

Long-term, I think I'll permanently mount a threaded ring on one of my cameras so the lens can be easily added and removed.

I see the camera, but no test shots?
