I made 3 prints the other day. This was the second one, and the one that turned out the best. It was a play it by eye digital negative which came out OK. I used Mike Ware's cyanotype from a Photographer's Formulary kit, and it was printed on Stonehenge White paper using sunlight as a UV source. As per the kit, I added some citric acid to the solution before coating the paper. It was gratifying to see it turn blue in the sun, that's for sure. Any criticism is welcome.

This is a photograph of the print, which the image area is 8x10. I'm not sure really how to prepare these for use on the web yet. This is pretty close to the print. Attached files http://f295.f295.org/uploads/aj_cyanotype2_180.jpg (http://f295.f295.org/uploads/aj_cyanotype2_180.jpg)

Yes, nicely done. Plus it has a "3D" effect that makes the image part look like it stands proud of the paper which is pretty nice.

Very nice! I hope my first one looks as good.

What's to criticize? I think it's a great portrait and the cyano coloring really suits the subject. I also like how the brush marks around the image sort of echo the fur on your friend's face.
