This is my latest camera. It has a 240mm unknow, unbranded lens and can be use with pinhole too. i made it to be easy to carry. It use 20x40cm x-ray sheet film. It has a double side film holder and a ground glass. It is made of MDF and cardboard

The material I've used to make the light blocking system. it is a soft black plactic that I found in a paper store

The ground glass is actually not a "ground glass", it is made with soft translucent plastic, already frosted in one side

And finally a picture taken with this camera on photo paper with the lens wide open (it only has a fixed aperture), but I've made some aperture with cardboard too. It is fairly wide !

That's a beautiful camera, Tony. I might steal some ideas for a new 8x10 camera I am building.

Tony, this is a great camera design concept and an excellent first result taken with it. The film holders look beautiful.

Great design. Really like it. Film holders design-excellent. Any problems with holders light leaks? What material were used for darkslide?
I just found source of x-ray films, but still have no time to build suitable camera:)

Hi Cesarioo. If you look at the picture, there are two light leaks on the right side up and down... but it can easily be fix I think. I use 1mm cardboard for the darkslide, but it's not the best material, because sometimes it bends and it's tricky to close. I suggest to use a more rigid material.

Hi Tony,
maybe you should spray some clear varnish to make cardboard darkslide more sturdy, especially at the edges. I made my darkslides from 0,8mm plywood triple coated with black acrylic painting (but it's lots of work and you need to order this plywood from some of e-stores for air plane model makers

Quite a project, and I love those film holders. I've also got some x-ray film and might steal an idea or two and go big instead of cutting it all down.

Cheers -

That' sa great looking camera.

"it only has a fixed aperture"

you could always make some 'waterhouse stops' out of thin metal or card
