I've been at this one for a while. I've managed to add a fancy circuit to enable control of the film speed. More info including a video on flickr (click on the photo).

Wow (a bit cliche but it works), Dr. Frankenstein (pronounced Frahn-Ken-steen as in the move Young Frankenstein :)) certainly had nothing on you.

I look forward to more results. The flicker bus is really wild with the nose turned toward the photographer. I like the Borg analogy by the way. Maybe you were channeling a bit of Tim Burton.......

Tim Burton is right! Someone on flickr has suggested calling it the Strip-ME, a good name i think! (Linear strip camera / slit-scan)

Thank you Benjamin. I've been shooting it quite a bit recently, the speed control makes it really versatile. Here's some of my better results..

Wow those are absolutely remarkable images! I love the people one the most. So, trying to make sure I understand correctly - is the film moving during the exposure?

Man these are great. Somehow they look better than the olympic photofinish pictures. Maybe you need to sell them the tech :D
