I've been accused of being to organized (the last image in this set might help to dispel that rumor) but I like to have my gear at the ready. I hate rummaging around looking for that last widget to take along.

I recently built a 65mm camera for roll film and 4X5 and wanted a case to cart it around in. I have started doing some more intricate wood working, ie. making box joints, and thought I could kill two birds with one stone. I set out to build a camera case for [1] camera, [2] roll fim backs, [1] 4X5 back, film, stuff and a place for my film belt.

Here is the finished product.

Top opened to revel camera and backs nested. The camera lays to the front of the box and behind it there is roome for 6 or 8 4X5 holders.

The camera lays lens down in the box. I put some pins in the front so it would rest on the lens.

In the lower right hand corner you can see the foam drawer liner I use to cushion the items. Also cuts down on rattles. Attached files http://f295.f295.org/uploads/dsc_0855r_7894.jpg (http://f295.f295.org/uploads/dsc_0855r_7894.jpg)

Camera and roll film backs un-nested. You can see the handle on the front, there is also one on the back, that I use to trans port the case.

This is the case in the rack I built for the back of my vehicle. The short box next to it holds my 8X10 to 4X5 reducing back.

Nice case, nice camera, and nice shop! It's impossible to work in a clean shop anyway (not that I have much experience trying).

Very impressive, Marv! Beautifully and smartly constructed.

Reminds me of an old New Yorker cartoon whose caption was "A clean desk is a workshop for the devil" or something like that ;)
