A question for the members about one of the possible 2006 f295 initiatives!
Would you be interested in trying to get together (in-person) with other pinhole photographers on a quarterly basis?
The basic idea: to get pinhole photographers together on a regular basis to discuss the art and craft. Similar to the LUMP group in MN. Meeting themes/topics could be decided here and then the local groups would take it from there. For this to work, we'd need a volunteer to do some basic organizing in their locale --mostly to decide on a place to meet and post it to the forum. It would be nice to have notes and images from each local meeting posted back here for others to see... but those details can be discussed if people think this is a good idea. Perhaps it's not. You tell me.
Cheers!

I encourage folks to give the concept a try. The LUMP (League of Upper Midwest Pinholers) meetings are always full of learning and eager participants.

I'd be interested in attending locally in North Carolina, but I'm no organizer...

I'm just trying to organize a group of pinholers in Milan (Italy) area.
First step will be the WWPD, where I'm planning to run a couple of events.
International coordination and support would be great.
Need more input.

Hello Beppe,
Here is a link to the WPPD Resource page. Check the Event Planning Guide. It may have some helpful ideas. http://www.pinholeday.org/support/
Then, be sure to post a notice of your event in the WPPD event listings: http://www.pinholeday.org/events/
All of the WPPD events are organized locally. The Resources can help you out and the Events listing is a venue for publicizing your event(s). If you enter a WPPD event, it will also show up in the Pinhole Visions listings at www.pinhole.com.

Europe is poor in pinholer amateurs. I hope some ones inhabit no too far away.
I have many pinhole projects and would be glad to share.

Northern Europe - sounds brilliant. I'm in, for sure.
And of course - whenever any of you pinholers are on your way to Stockholm, do not hesitate to contact me!

Yes,I like the idea and would be prepared to do some of the preparatory work. I live in northeast England but have no idea (other than the count of UK contributors on the WPPD boards) how many other pinholers there are in this country or in northern europe as J Green suggested.

Hi all !
After propositionnal from Tom Persinger for creating places for pinholers meeting, we have decided with some friends to found the « French Center for Pinhole Photography ». It will be at the Andre Malraux Cultural Center in Le Bourget, very accessfull north subburb of Paris.
Actually, this Cultural Center proposes Exhibitions, Workshops (I made recently one about pinhole) and in few months there will be also « the photographer house » with studio, argentic and numeric laboratory to great photographers in Residencies…. A Center for Pinhole Photography could naturally have his place in this structure.
This French Center could be a place to meet pinholers, to make some conferences, to exhibit and exchange some exhibitions with others centers, be a resources and research center…
We are thinking about a meeting proposition for the next WWPD 2006.
Just before, between march 13th and april 30th there will be an exhibition from 4 French pinholers : Claude Cogny, Christophe Frot, Erick Mengual, and I.
I could tell you more later and will send you some picture of this place !
We hope that the French Center for Pinhole Photography will also federate world pinholers !
