Using a 35mm film canister with a sewing needle hole, Ilford FP4, 1 minute on my porch stoop. Just to see if it would work, and by golly it did! Cool. I find it interesting that, unlike with lens-based photography, the edges of the image are more in focus than the center.

Welcome to f/295, this is a good first effort! Yes, it really does work, and be careful, this can get addictive.

As for the sharpness, while any pinhole can be used at any film-to-pinhole distance, there is an optimum size of pinhole for each "focal length" (we still tend to call it that, even though it really doesn't apply in pinhole). I suspect in this case the distance from the pinhole to the edges of the film were closer to optimum for that pinhole size than was the distance to the center of the film.

I'm looking forward to seeing the results of further experiments.

Actually, I think I'd like to be Mauritian.

I hear they have a death cult where they disinter their relatives for festivals. I like the idea of a society where even decomposition doesn't stand in the way of having a good time...

:D :D :D

Here's another, a self-portrait with the same film canister pinhole camera, FP4, 1 minute. I've got an official pinhole for my Busch Pressman, will upload a picture when I get something good.
