Made from the remains of a Kodak No.2 Autographic, a box from a crafts store,
a Vario shutter off an old folder, some epoxy and Gorilla glue.

Coated the inside of the box with india ink and spray painted the outside gold.

Says inside that it is licensed only for Eastman Autographic film. HA!
It's loaded with a roll of Classic 400 for a field test tomorrow. Excellent Daryl. I have just bought an old English 6x9 folder from Ebay and intend doing a similar project myslef. I have an old shutter from an Ensign Ranger which I think may do the job. Will you get vignetting from the shutter or not on this Daryl. Just curious.

Let us see the results ASAP.

. . . . Will you get vignetting from the shutter or not . . . .

Nope! During mock up, check to make sure you can see the pinhole in the corners of the film frame from the back side. Just hold it up to a light with the shutter open.

Naturally, you can get a lot closer to the film using an Ilex 5 or Copal 3 than you can with a Copal 0.

IT WORKS!!

Okay. Here are some shots on Classic 400 thru the camera of the Dobbin House in Gettysburg, PA.
It was built in 1776 by a Reverend Alexander Dobbin.
That was four score and seven years before the speech by Lincoln opened with "Four score and seven years ago".

It has a Tavern, Dining Rooms, a Ballroom and a Store.

If you are ever in Gettysburg, its worth a visit. Food is good. Drinks are better.

Not too far down the road is a store where you can get a "T"-shirt that reads:
GETTYSBURG
A drinking town with a history problem.

I believe this to be true. Attached files http://f295.f295.org/uploads/1dobbinhouse5w_9121.jpg (http://f295.f295.org/uploads/1dobbinhouse5w_9121.jpg) http://f295.f295.org/uploads/1dobbinhouse8w_7055.jpg (http://f295.f295.org/uploads/1dobbinhouse8w_7055.jpg)

And of course, not too far away is one of these things.

Seems to be some sort of canine territorial marker that shows up regularly.
(cropped)

I've never seen one used for anything else. Attached files http://f295.f295.org/uploads/canineterritorialmarker_7223.jpg (http://f295.f295.org/uploads/canineterritorialmarker_7223.jpg)

i'll say it works! beautiful photos, daryl.

i always thought those canine markers were egress points for the subterranean strain of our species when they come up to feed on us eloi. but i could be wrong.

Another nice conversion, Daryl. I'll bet those are as good as (if not better than) anything that camera took with it's original l___s. I don't see any mods to the film transport - 120 works in a No. 2 Autographic?

Dang, you sure there's not a lens in that thing!

Underground feeders...remember the ugly blue cannibals from the Time Machine...Morlocks?

I saw a Morlock Chiropractic office in Indiana once...I got out of town before sundown.

You are pure inspiration Daryl. Fantastic shots to go with a fantastic camera. Can't wait for my Ebay cam to arrive.

All you need are some spacers on either side of the film spools and a way to get the winding knob to engage.

Generally No.2 Kodaks take 120 film.
But if it's labeled as a No.2A or No.2C - those are different.

This one has on the Autograph window a statement to use A-120 film, which was
the autographic version where one could use a stylus to take notes which would show up on the prints.
No mod was necessary to use present day 120 - it's just that the data recording feature is missing.

Sorry, Daryl, you are correct as usual. My Kodak folder is a 2A, which took 116 film in its day, and is now spacered for 120.

T.P., a suggestion: sound on f295!!! Then every time that someone writes the word l___s a sharp beep comes out of the speakers to warn us :)

would that have a delay, or a buffer read-ahead for those of us who might type l___sless ?

Meteors hit Jupiter? That is the sign, we must bury our lenses deep underground only for them to be dug up in the future to destroy humanity again - that said, I'm pretty sure that Comet Shoemaker-Levy was a collection of lenses blasted into space by photographers interested in alternative processes. That said, I like Daryl's new camera! I would never give up my lenses though. Remember, lenses don't take pictures, people do. Nice camera Daryl!

Okay, I'll admit it.

My favorite cameras have lenses on them. I'm a sharpness addict.

Doesn't make me a bad person, and I like pinhole, too... :)
