Lost the closeup with a cut/paste that failed. I'll shoot another.

Cut off w/bandsaw two places, painted interior w/flat black paint, scraped mouth of bottle to snug fit. Solvent based paint stuck to the plastic no problem. Kind of surprised me.

Initially I just cut it off at the first curve, but the threaded end was not only about 1 mm too big, it looked like it might extend too far away from lens (a tube effect).

So I cut the threads off at the cap 'stop', the widest part of the threaded end. Two different 250-count (large pill) bottles, #1 PETE plastic, one bottle was still loose at this point, & wouuld have needed a shim or two. The too-tight one was a better option & actually snaps on snugly.

Lens is Agfa Solinar 105 mm. 37 mm push-on was originally intended accessory (smooth straight cylindrical sides on lens. Scale focus, fit is snug enough to rotate hood.

I can barely reach my thin graceful fingers behind it to reach f/stop lever... Attached files http://f295.f295.org/uploads/dscf1341_6946.jpg (http://f295.f295.org/uploads/dscf1341_6946.jpg)

It looks much neater than the cut-down plastic Avon bottle that has extended the aperture ring of the 50mm lens in a deeply recessed lens board on my favorite enlarger for the past 20 years. Yours has curves that complement the top plate of the camera nicely. That interior paint job looks good, too.

Nice idea. Now, does it matter what kind of vitamins were in the bottle? I'm thinking with vitamin C, it may aid in your film development ... :)

I think it was some kind stuff that's supposed to help my focal length (har har har).

I can't take credit for originality...saw someone's homebrew accessories, including a sad looking lens cap on a FSU camera site.

Did I mention my wife's concern over my competing with the recycling bag (one for the recycle bag, 2 for me, ....).

Those 25# scoopable cat litter plastic containers might work for a 12" f/2.5 Aero-Ektar...
