Paul may recognize this. It's an amazing willow environmental sculpture made by Patrick Dougherty about a year ago at the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden. For more information about its construction, go to the web site listed below. Go there if you have the chance. It's a beautiful garden and the sculpture will probably be around for another couple of years. A ghost in the doorway gives an idea of scale.

Leonardo f350, Ilford Delta 100 4x5; exposure, about 20 sec. Late afternoon (winter) sun. Attached files http://f295.f295.org/uploads/toad_hall_3621.jpg (http://f295.f295.org/uploads/toad_hall_3621.jpg)

Sounds a really nice place, gneissgirl, and a lovely picture to reflect it. Love the idea of a ghost scale.....

so charming! i remember when someone made a miniature door to cover a hole in the base of a tree on the shore of lake harriet (minneapolis). children began dropping by regularly to leave offerings for the fairies. i wonder how they will respond to this!
it is like a subject from "the pencil of nature".
