Just visited here in a moment of nostalgia, having just mentioned f/295 to my daughter. I'm amazed that ist's still up and available to use, and wonder if we could resurrect it into an active forum...

Hello everyone,
To anyone calling in here I'd like to mention a new thread dedicated to making LF pinhole cameras which has started on Large Format Photography Forum. Since f295 closed there has...
I've tried several times to upload images of the new camera I've made to take advantage of some x-ray film I recently acquired, but sadly the f295 uploader seems damaged. I've posted a description on...
Yes, Randy. 5" 'focal length', about 120 degrees coverage, and 0.4 or 0.5mm pinhole (haven't decided that yet). I'm planning rise and fall on the pinhole to prevent curved horizon effects. Making the...
I look in twice a day in hope of some action. I'm currently working on a 5"x12" curved film plane camera for some x-ray film a member here gave me, and paper negatives, too. It's very much a trial...
Very nice, Marv. Is it 8x10? I don't know why traffic is low... site still apparently works. Where has everyone gone?
I agree, Don. I look in here twice a day hoping to see some activity, and don't know why everyone's given up. I'm not sure if Tom is closing it down or just not maintaining the site. I imagine it...
I'm somewhat ignorant of how these places run, but when Tom announced the closure of f295 I expected it would close down at some time. Evidently others did also, and some joined other groups. However...
Good on you, Don. I'd love to see some pictures.
Now I can... It took ages to come up, must be my slow internet connection. Very nice image.
Unfortunately can't see it, Randy.
Glad to hear this, Ned. I joined Jon's forum recently and I'd love more f295 members to do so, too. I think the more of us that stick together, the better. For anyone interested, I think Jon said...
Darn nice, Terry !
Another suggestion for the mix - the Ilford Community Forum http://www.ilfordphoto.com/photocommunity/forums/theforum/default.asp which has a good range of sections including pinhole and alt...
I might be a lone voice, but I don't like APUG. I subscribed for six months to try it out, but found it a bit tiresome. There is good information there, but hard to wade through the trivia to find it.
I'd be interested, too. It's going to be hard to replace 295, but anything's worth a try.
Incredible effects. Brilliant.
Lovely image Martin.
Are we giving up without a fight? I don't have any answers myself, but surely there must be a better alternative than Apug. I subscribed for six months to try it out, but didn't feel it was for me....
Memory lapse - I should have said 'pinhole' not 'lens'.
Martin, both stunning images. How much was the lens raised in the first shot?
I've been giving this a lot of thought. I imagine there would be costs involved in hosting the site and server maintenance etc, so I think a membership levy would be necessary and reasonable. Apart...
Sad news, Tom. Thank you for your commitment to f/295 over those years, and I wish you and your family the best for the future. In my short time here I've come to love this place and visit at least...
The pics are lovely, Ned. I especially like the second one. Must have been quite still, as there's not much movement.
