    Making a zone plate.

Hmm, I take the opposite approach and avoid Acrobat (I didn't even have it installed anywhere!).

I think I'll document how I managed to do this, assuming the souping goes well tonight. I had to...

    Making a zone plate.

    I got the reference ;-)

But does it work? Preview on the Mac (the built-in PDF viewer) doesn't work, and I think I tried Acrobat as well: no love. Glad I have an old boatanchor PC to fill in the...

    Making a zone plate.

y-e-e-e-s, I'm seeing it now, as if through a pinhole, but I am seeing it.

    Making a zone plate.

That's the part I didn't get. Are you just taking a reg'lar pinhole as the basis? The clicking sound may have been an idea registering in miy head.

I think I understand what Ray was trying to...

    Making a zone plate.

OK, with the help of this page, I think I get it. It is a slowed-down version of the information Ray gave me earlier (I am a bear of little brain when it comes to numbers).

    We'll see how this...

    Making a zone plate.

    OK, I re-read Daryl's initial message and I see where I wandered off-course.

All I need do is measure the center dot (I get 44mm -- I told you they were enlarged!) and then work out the...

    Making a zone plate.

Argh. I am trying to get these done for a trip out of town this weekend. I feel like I am getting further away, not closer ;-)

So I just printed one without enlarging and all I got for my trouble...

    Making a zone plate.

OK, that and the link to Mr Pinhole confirms my suspicions: these are all wrong ;-)

By enlarging them, I have mucked up the whole business (why is there an option to do that, I wonder?). Not sure...

    Making a zone plate.

OK, the first batch of zone plates has been printed out and shot. For reasons that elude me, I was only able to print these from Acrobat in Windows. Anyway, they look reasonable, if you like...

  19. Fog in the trees - classic summer in San francisco

I like that they have the tone of cyanotypes but are much sharper and have great texture. These are really interesting.

IR in Dana's Flower Garden Place

The lotus leaves are my fave, though they have the least of the IR magic, it seems. They're all good: I like the sharpness you get with those cacti and leaves.

    Making a zone plate.

OK, I think I have it worked out. For some reason, printing these things has been the main challenge. But that's licked.

So I have a roll of 24 exposures of the Bluefire Police film loaded (ISO...
