    there is one point in your post that confuses me: the speed.
    You mention that the split process is about a 1/2 stop faster than the traditional. (using your uv)

    it`s just like on the pic. The lens has got a 90° angle towards the middle line. From the lens to the middle of the picture is about 33cm, as i used a 3 diopter eyeglass. (f=1/diopter)....

    you are right, paper negative. The exposure time (contact copy) was 4 hours in the weak berlin sun and 3 hours under a 300W UV lamp 8) (that`s why i am looking to saltprints...)

    i have got some problems with dots on my first salt prints...

    That`s what i did:

    soaked the paper in a 2% gelatine solution for 2 minutes
    dry
    ionized the dry paper with a 2% salt...

    I am currently building an 8x10 camera with a 3 dioper positive meniscus eyeglass lens.

    Is there any difference what way round i use the lens? ( a or b )
