Along with photography, I've also been interested in LTA, and have been working sporadically the last few years on a flying radio controlled Zeppelin rigid airship model. Here's an image of a test structure of the hull section, made from balsa, with threads for tension wires and covered in condensor tissue. This hull section is cylindrical, 16" in diameter, 15" long, and weighs 22 grams. But still a bit too heavy. More design work is needed.
