    multiple exposure dumb question

    I couldn't find this in a search. If I put the camera (an oatmeal can) in one spot and leave it open, how long does a subject have to stay in one spot to register in the final image? Guessing 1/3 of the total might work? I don't have time to do too many attempts, so I'm hoping someone here can give me a headstart.

    It depends. A light subject against a dark background may record well in 1/3 or 1/2 the normal time, but a subject silhouetted against a bright sky will be washed out much sooner.
