    Grandson's WPPD Image

My grandson Noah's WPPD image, also taken in the Ojito Wilderness today. He's 10 years old and had fun, although the afternoon got windy and hot (and it's only April, wait until the heat of the summer...!)

4"x5" box camera with viewing dots, preflashed grade 2 paper, 15 second exposure.

I think his composition of the boulder is better than mine.

Noah got himself a nice picture!

I took my son with me yesterday morning (he's eight). He had a blast shooting a whole roll on a Holgamod 120 pinhole. I'm taking the film to the lab tomorrow for processing, so we'll find out soon if he outdid his old man.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree Joe. Congratulations to Noah on a fine WPPD effort.

Very nice. It has a bit of an iconic quality to it.

That's what I was thinking, too. The background and sky are sufficiently uncluttered, and his framing at just the right distance to balance foreground and background, that the boulder is well isolated.

In the overall process we even managed to capture a bit of cloud detail in the upper border, not an easy thing with paper negatives that usually blow out the sky.

Noah took a cracking picture there Joe.

What I think is even nicer is to see a young lad getting into film photography

    and enjoying it!

There's something special about spending time with your grandfather doing something as simple and nice as this.

I'd say he will remember these days in later life.
