    Film holder repair

I purchased some very nice 5x7 film holders but the leatherette along the bottom of each holder was missing. I searched locally for something to replace it. I found at the local discount store . It is a nylon type fabric with a very sticky backing. I cut strips to cover the end of the film holders wooden flaps. I doubled it to insure it stays together. We'll see if it holds together. The lower picture you can see one of the film holders that has been repaired and the other without.

    Film holder repair

I've always used electrical tape, but of course I then need to replace it every several months. I'll have to consider this.

BTW, I've got a few old 5x7" holders where the slides are held very tightly. Any idea how to correct that so that they slide in and out without too much trouble?

    Cheers -

    george
