    Evening all.
Anyone use/have used a Holga 120wpc duel format? I bought one the other day off eBay (father's day present from my son only he don't know he bought it yet) and it looks quite good?

    Cheers.

Hi Rene, Thanks for the help and the great posts, the modifications were an eye opener! Love the wedding shots, a happy bunch it seems. Where a in Switzerland were they taken? I Have a few rolls of 100 Shanghai to christen my Holga with so I hope I do as well as you and this guy...... http://blurdotblog.com.

Have you had any problems with the film not lying flat across the film plane aperture? A friend who has a 120wpc says he had poor sharpness due to this?

I'm off to take a look at you flicker site.

    All the best.

    Brian.

I don't think flatness at the film plane has anything to do with sharpness with pinhole, as long as it's holding still and not buckling during the exposure. You might get some fun funhouse mirror distortion though.

Hi dvoracek, Take a look at the picture. My friend scanned this on his 4490 with no USM activated, He/I would have expected the 120 to be much sharper? The film used was Shanghai 100 which I have used and find quite good. Blur Dot Blog has some nice shots with a 120pwc.

    All the best.

Brian: I took the wedding pictures during and after the civil wedding ceremony at the castle of Rapperswil, Switzerland.

As Nick mentioned already, in a pinhole camera in contrary to a camera with a lens the flatness of the film does not influence the sharpness.

I thought is was though looks a little different now? Impressive scenery around there. I see Rapperswil and Jona are one now. How come? So what do you think is wrong with my friends 120wpc. The scan he sent me was real poor (shame I can't upload the 1200 scan he sent) that's why I put it on here. I'm going to give my 120 a run tomorrow so I'll have something to compare. Hope the negs don't turn out like my friend Will's :'(

    All the best.

Brian, take care how you make the exposure. To use the internal shutter and operate it with a cable release guaranties that your pictures will never be sharp. The cable release shakes the camera. I hold a piece of black cardboard in front of the camera (very close to cover the pinhole but not touching the camera), open the shutter, move the cardboard away to make the exposure, put the cardboard again in front of the pinhole to finish the exposure and close finally the internal shutter with the cable release. Avoid to shake the cable release during the exposure. The movements of the cable release by the wind are sometimes enough. I fix it during the exposure on the tripod and keep my fingers away of it.

Hi Rene, I asked my friend if he used a cable release and it seems he did. So we're both going to try your method out this week (if it stops raining!). I've just started doing the mods to the 120 as on your post, should be interesting to see the end result. Would this work in place of your card....With lens cap on open shutter with cable release and lock.
Remove lens cap, time exposure, replace lens cap. Or would that still create too much movement?
    Regards.

    Hello Rene
The links don't seem to be working. Could you post the ways to improve the camera once again. Thank you - Kurt
