Finally got a v700 so i can scan these.
Early try with colour film. Tray developed and results aren't exactly 100%.
I played with the colours of this one in PS, but the direct scan has a blueish cast and the blacks seem to have a reddish cast.
This result shows up even in taco style developed sheets. So not sure what's going on there. Right now my guess is blix issues. I see now that people suggest giving it a good shake in a half empty bottle to "reactivate" it.

Either way rome wasn't build in one day.

yes that's a good perspective and portrait! I'll be interested to see how your journey goes... color film is the one thing that might get me to buy a v700 too. So far I have resisted buying a film scanner, but I keep thinking about how C41 isn't really that complicated to develop, and might be fun!

V700 is a great scanner... I've had one for a few years now, and love it. Not to temp you, but there are some great deals on refurbs at Amazon

I guess you used one of the C41 generic kits?

@ned.lewis: it's really not that hard. While my last rolls of 35mm where a bit on the undersaturated side, the colors weren't that much off. It's the 4x5 that i'm having issues with.

@colray: not really. I used the tetenal powder kit. I think i want to move on to liquid tho. See if that makes my developing a bit more consistent. I think i'd (in a best case scenario) move to a one shot solution. But i don't see that happening. I also can't seem to find any kit that uses separate bleach and fixer baths. Got a hint on that one?

I'll think about it. I mostly avoid scanners because I'm on the computer all day for work and like to avoid it for hobbies.. but it would be fun to develop color film at home... I think this is something for when I retire!
