Pinhole Photography workshop
Jo Babcock

Sun, April 28, 11-5pm

Celebrate 2013 World Wide pinhole day in this one-day workshop. We will begin with a brief history of the pinhole and influential pinhole photographers. Students will receive instruction on how to make the “perfect pinhole” and enjoy a weekend exploring the creative possibilities of lowtech photography. Using cameras that have been pre-made, students will head out for a photo “walkabout” to shoot with B&W film/paper. After returning to the lab students will process film and view the results of the images they’ve made. If time allows, students will also have an opportunity to create B&W contact prints of their negatives. All images will have to opportunity to be scanned and uploaded on the 2013 International Pinhole Day website. Students will leave class with a pre-made camera and the knowledge of how to build future pinhole cameras of their own.
