The geology of North County Dublin

Being a nice day last Saturday I decided to take a walk from the village of Loughshinny back along the coast to Skerries - a distance of about two and a half miles (5km) or so. It's a favourite haunt of mine for images.

Between folding, and erratics, and various other features, the geology of this stretch of coastline is amazing. So much so, I have decided to put on an exhibition of images which will include a lot of these features in a show which I will probably call Barnageera to Ballustree. To my knowledge no-one has produced a series of images covering the area of the coast from Balbriggan to Rush in Co Dublin using a 5x4 pinhole camera. I aim to change that.

All images here are taken with a DIY 5x4 camera, 0.3mm pinhole with 45mm focal length, using Fomapan 100 rated at 50 iso and developed in Rodinal 1:100 for 30 minutes semi stand.

Strong work, George. I especially like the first image in the first post and the second image in the second post.

I'm not sure I can pick a favourite, they're all great. Would love to see the exhibit, except I'm quite some distance away!

Yes very strong. The area has a very surreal feel to it and it should make for a very interesting exposition.
