The second picture was druing lunch in Barcelona near the Zoological Gardens I spotted this manhole with ladder. Don't know what was down there. Three workman came along, looked down, pushed to cover over a bit and walked on. Fuji Velvia 50, Chimera69 pinhole camera. The other manhole is up a narrow alley.

I really like both of these... together they create a really interesting diptych. I could see a series on this theme/idea.
