    Mighty Kern

I live on the South Fork of the Kern River. This shot is taken on the North or main fork of the river. It is a major water shed of the Southern Sierra Nevada mountains with it's head waters on the slopes of Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the continental USA. Actually right now we are in a drought and the river flow is about a third of what I have seen but still, standing on a precarious rock right on the waters edge in a narrows like this, the sound and power of the river is exhilarating and somewhat frightening.

Nice image. I lov what a pinhole does to flowing water.
