I'm glad you're in Danny, there is a great international flavor to this.

Everyone should have the info on all the people they should send prints to by now. If anyone is missing anything, please let me know ASAP so i can send whatever is missing.

Hopefully nobody will be disappointed that I'm only planning to send one print. I've been printing the same negative for a month now -- mostly as a way to learn about toning and about differences in salting solutions. I started making "more careful" prints on bigger paper a couple weeks ago for this print exchange and today I got a 3rd one that I'm happy enough with to send. Still want to make 2 more as good as these: one for me and one for another friend.

There's a remote chance, if I get a really good paper negative this weekend, that I might try for 2 prints each, but it's pretty unlikely.

I hope everyone has as much fun with this as I'm having!

One print made carefully and with love is plenty, Ned.

Thanks Earl, this one qualifies in that regard. Whether it shows, I can only hope!
I've found something I really like in salt prints + paper negatives.

One print is totally fine Ned.Lewis, it's pretty much what everybody sends out. I sent out more last year mostly because i was sending 5x7 pretty easily done prints. This year i'm spending a bit too much time fighting with a digital negative that isn't looking like i want it to, so it's probably going to be just one.

Thanks! I haven't done a print exchange before.

So, who sent their lot out already?

I am a little behind the curve this year unfortunately; my printer has died I plan to be running again over the next few days and hope to post out before the weekend.

    Best regards,

    Evan

I have 3 prints made that I think are acceptable, but am hoping to make one more this weekend. I'm going to pick the best 3, and there is one that I think could be slightly improved. The weather has not been cooperating but Saturday is supposed to finally be sunny again!

I was also thinking of purchasing some stiff blotter board to cut up and use as packaging so the prints don't geIt damaged in the mail. It is difficult to get information about whether mats and blotter have buffering, but I don't think it will hurt a salt print to be between blotter for the short time it will be in the mail. They probably should not be stored that way though. I have some unbuffered matboard on order but it probably will not arrive in time for this mailing.

So I'll probably mail mine on Monday.
