NOTE: It has been a long long time since I've posted much of anything here.
I've spent the interim years [!] learning about LF, and printing, and such.
Had some chemo along the way too.
I still heartily recommend this site to everyone who will listen. I still shoot a bit
of pinhole, and know that this site and the supportive people, like Tom P, Marv,
Earl, Joe van Cleve, and many others, gave me the impetus to push on through
the troubles, and keep making images. I cannot thank everyone enough.
Pinhole for life.
Ok, so I've finally gotten some 8x10 film.... seemingly years in the making. I've had the 8x10 foam core for
over a year now and having used paper negatives exclusively [to the point of taping a yellow filter onto the
front to address the blue sensitivity...], I finally broke down and bought some nice holders and some HP5+.
Now, I've got reasonable times and hope to use the camera a bit more, and miss fewer shots.
Here's one from Garrapata, at least a stop overexposed but HP5 is pretty resilient...
8x10 homemade foamcore box with 0.4mm lasercut pinhole [lenox?]
pinhole to film plane ~ 150mm, using 0.4mm pinhole => f/375
should be ~ 9 stops past f/16
5 mins using HP5, dev'd in xtol, scanned, toned.
