Already saw this on FB a while ago, I really think this should be preserved some way. I'm not super active anymore due to work (at least I'm working with this all day ) just sucks me in.
But if there's any real interest I can look into what it would take to set up a forum for us to move to. As long as we use off-forum image hosting (stuff like IMGUR) it shouldn't cost a lot in terms of bandwidth and hosting. If there's any real interest let me know and I'll look into it (that's of course if Tom doesn't have some fundamental issue with it).

Could always just re-group at APUG. There is already a pinhole section.

I might be a lone voice, but I don't like APUG. I subscribed for six months to try it out, but found it a bit tiresome. There is good information there, but hard to wade through the trivia to find it.

I run a small forum that has a pinhole section. The site has been turned on for new registrations. I will leave this open until the end of January.

Something that already exists is better than trying to start a new forum or email list. We could all register at Jon's forum. It has a pinhole section and also a section for non-pinhole traditional/alt printing processes, so it covers the main subject areas...

( pinholes and solargraphs mixed in among the rest)

Another suggestion for the mix - the Ilford Community Forum http://www.ilfordphoto.com/photocomm...um/default.asp which has a good range of sections including pinhole and alt processes, with some quite well-known contributors.

However all these alternatives won't get us very far. I suggest that to retain as much of the character of f/295 as possible, we all need to move in the one direction, because what has made f/295 is the people who contribute to it. So, what about a poll of the various alternatives, then we give the majority alternative a go?

Has anyone tried contacting Tom about this? He has probably thought about it longer than any of us...
    Just a thought.
