OK! Guess I finally "get it!",it's apparent I'm beating a dead horse, so sad.A lot of interesting and valuable information will be lost when Tom shuts this down along with some really fun exchanges between folks. But it sure looks like it's done to me(finally),again sad.....

I agree, Don. I look in here twice a day hoping to see some activity, and don't know why everyone's given up. I'm not sure if Tom is closing it down or just not maintaining the site. I imagine it could be like an old sailing ship without a crew, drifting over the oceans - in other words, the site may remain open and usable until it crashes, and that will be that. So I wonder why we can't use it while it's still up.

I don't know either but it sure is .... crickets.... in here! There's no link to the forum from the f295 main page any longer, so only people who already know about this forum or who stumble across it in a search are likely to stop by.

I come here every day to check in. There are still a lot of people looking at the information on the site, but most appear to not be members. Yes, things are slowly winding down.......

Maybe some of us"hangers on" should exchange e-mail addresses so some contact could be maintained, just a thought, what do you think?

In the words of Rob Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show - "Like the last living cell in a dead body".

Sad news indeed, even though I'm not really a regular here.

I look in twice a day in hope of some action. I'm currently working on a 5"x12" curved film plane camera for some x-ray film a member here gave me, and paper negatives, too. It's very much a trial and error process getting everything to fit. Can't wait to finish it and post a pic of it and some images here.

Barry, is it going to be a pinhole camera?

Yes, Randy. 5" 'focal length', about 120 degrees coverage, and 0.4 or 0.5mm pinhole (haven't decided that yet). I'm planning rise and fall on the pinhole to prevent curved horizon effects. Making the front panel which will be removable for loading film. Another 2 weeks or so should do it.
