Really nice image, John! Great tonal range and very sharp for pinhole.

I'd suggest posting images a bit smaller, when they come up with scroll bars it's hard to get a feel for the whole composition. I took the liberty (sorry) of reducing it a bit. This was 96 pixels/inch with the long dimension set to 7". Makes it easier to enjoy your nice work! Attached files

Thanks, moot, that's a lot easier to view. Very sharp, and very nicely composed. I hesitate to comment on exposure and development with scanned images, but this looks good. Welcome to f295, John!

    Hi John,
I really like this image! Somehow I can't stop seeing it as a swan or similar curvy-necked bird. Wonderful tension between positive and negative space, too. Quite lovely! Thanks for joining in!

    Yes, yes.....welcome aboard!!!

The use of the format fits the subject well. I especially like the tension between the two points.

    Very nice image.

Thanks Moot for the resizing. When I scanned the negative, I had a 14,851 KB file. I though reducing it to 50KB would be small enough. I guess I donít yet have a feel for the right file size for this forum.

The file size is just fine. It's the number of pixels that is too big. If you are in Photoshop, use the Save for Web function, and set the longest dimension to around 600 or so pixels, and you will be just fine.

a note from your friendly administrator:
(and everyone should notice how great the image looks at Moots resize and it's only 30K)
