    Wollensak shutter help

I can't find people with the user name search here... >

    Jim Jones or IM, perhaps?

    Re: 1907 or so Wollensak basic shutter (T, B, 1/25, 1/50, 1/100) on an Ansco 5:

I looks like an Ansco-nameplated Wollensak "Winner" model (from an old Wollensak catalog).

    Two problems:
    1) Iris hangs up on something, deforming the circular opening
    2) Got it open & accidentally lifted out the shutter cocking lever & spring. Probably the first step in shutter maintenance, but I wasn't ready to do that.

I've read some repair sheets on Kodak Ball Bearing shutters...it seems some need shutter parts removal/teardown to get to the iris, and others (two on my 3A's) could be opened from th efront for shutter or the rear for diaphragm.

    Anyone worked on these?

It's in outstanding condition, externally. I don't want to drop $45-55 yet at Flutot's. The Ansco 5 was in very nice condition, red leather bellows intact, etc.

I'd like to option 1) get the lever & spring back in and send it somewhere if working on it myself will result in having no shutter.

option 2) get to the iris and clean/align the leaves.

    Thanks

Are you a member at the Yahoo group called camera-fix? If not you might want to join.

I'd bet money that someone there can help.
    Does this help:
