Sunset in Downtown St. Paul
This is the B&W version of the shot I posted in the color section:

For this shot, I took the tripod out to a little concrete island between the right turn lane and the central traffic lane. It allowed me to frame the Travelers building alone, but I lost some of the downtown atmosphere.
4x5 120 mm f300
Tech Pan 2 minutes exposure
developed in Technidol 8 minutes Attached files

oh yeah, the wierd way this forum interprets the 'and' symbol and prints it as the word instead of the symbol.
i forgot about that strange foible.
thanks for the image earl, i like shooting from roads too but it can be bloody scary at times when the best angle is out in the traffic

Oh wow!
Look at the range in the darker tones!
That has got to be a spectacular print!

Daryl nailed it.....such rich tones and detail in the low values. The way the reflections of the buildings sprouts from the shadows is a bit of a wild effect also.

In addition, I think it conveys very well how massive the buildings, where we work and live, really are by not showing the cars on the highway as a reference. Thanks for showing it to us, Earl
