    Doll in Chair

Harman DPP in F280 plywood 4x5 box camera, 20 minute exposure in bright shade.

I wet-scanned the print upon my flatbed scanner using a puddle of distilled water on the glass. It brings out the shadow detail better, while the print stays flat upon the glass due to surface tension, and dust particles are greatly reduced. You just have to be careful of eliminating air bubbles, by sliding the print back and forth a few times in the puddle, prior to scanning.

Kinda like a wet contact print? Looks good. How to do you keep the puddle from getting in under the glass of the scanner?

Good question. I only put enough water on the glass for the 4x5 print to sit within, a puddle about 2 inches across. Surface tension draws the water out to the edges of the print. And I wipe up the excess after the scan, being very conscious about the potential for ruining my scanner if I'm not careful.
